Knowledge, with a performance approach, are presented in a historical view and
for constructive-technological systems:
- Materials and construction elements "pre-modern" and their evolution: masonry, wood structural elements; Materials and construction elements of engineering, traditional and their evolution:
structural elements in steel and reinforced concrete;
- Foundations and building ground; Stairs and vertical connections; Roof and roof covering, glass, window.

Learning Objectives - Last names A-G
Provide basic knowledge of materials, products and elements that constitute the building systems, introducing the understanding of the role of technology in architectural design.
Given the scale of technological knowledge in architecture, the intent is to promote a critical thinking based on performances, construction methods, the aesthetic qualities and the relationship with the context.
Learning Objectives - Last names H-Z
To give a sound knowledge on materials, products and elements of building systems.
To present the role of building construction in the architectural design.
To increase common sense when choosing materials, building methods, aesthetic forms in relation with the environment.
Prerequisites - Last names A-G
nothing
Prerequisites - Last names H-Z
Basic knowledge on technical drawing, geometry and physics.

The lectures are developed into 5 modules, followed by verifications and exercises thar have to be collected in a personal book about the works of the course.
Additionally, the student must choose a "case study" (a construction site or project) to deepen and return in the personnel book documenting and developing a technological detail according to instructions provided during the course.

Type of Assessment - Last names A-G
The assessment of the preparation for the assignment of the final grade will result from the evaluation of:
1. 4 tests in the classroom
2. Book containing exercises carried out and the case study
3. Final interview.
Those who have not passed the tests in the classroom, will support a final exam that will have broader evidence of having achieved a thorough understanding of the issues in the test.
The exercises and case studies are required and will be applied for the final interview.
