The course represents a multifaceted introductory moment to the planning disciplines. It is based on a conception of the project as a result of a process of analyzing and understanding the context, at all scales where the architect works

During the lessons, sections of these books will be indicatted to be studied and sourced other bibliographic information related to the topics.

Training objective is to convey theoretical fundaments, methods and techniques for reading, interpretation and representation of the physical and built environment as necessary and preparatory phase of the design process.

The course consists of lectures, seminars and practical workshops on the field into samples of urban and rural areas.

Elaboration by the students of a final report on the work done and arge number of drawings and maps, some performed in equipe, other individually
