The course deals with Technology presented through a performance-based approach, an historical journey on the use of building elements.
Particularly, the attention will focus on materials and building elements such as: structural walls and building enclosure system, engineered and natural wooden products, structural elements in steel, building elements in concrete, grounded structural foundations, roof systems, glass and frame systems.

The course aims to train the incoming student in line with the professional figure outlined within the Bachelor Degree in Architecture Sciences. Student with BD in AS will possess the conceptual and operational control of the fundamental methods and tools needed to operate in the field of design and planning, conducted at different scales, in the areas of architecture, construction and territory.

to give a sound knowledge on materials, products and elements of building systems.
to present the role of building construction in the architectural design.
to increase sense of materials, building methods, aesthetic forms in relation with the environment.
