The course offers a series of lectures presenting the work of some of the most relevant masters of modern and contemporary architecture, whit a special gaze to the protagonist of the 900’s Italian scene.

The course aims to indagate some peculiar features of modern architecture, considering the reasons of their origin and the mechanisms of their transformation and evolution in relation with historical and cultural context. In these light, some well-known projects are deeply analyzed up to recognize some interesting connection existing between the different experiences of the authors beyond the differences concerning the method of approaching the design or concerning the languages.

In addition to the cycle of lectures, teaching consists of three practice extempore exercises (as better described on the moodle page of the course)

The final exam consists in the submission of the design project developed during the whole course.
