Erasmus+ for Studies

Erasmus+ is the European Union programme that allows students, undergraduates, PhD candidates, and postgraduate specialization students to undertake a study period (ranging from 2 to 12 months) at one of the partner universities in Europe, with subsequent recognition of the academic activities completed as part of their academic record.

Among the main objectives of the programme are the enhancement of foreign language skills and the building of a European society through the education and training of young people in intercultural contexts.

Erasmus+ Study offers students the opportunity to spend a period of 2 to 12 months at one of the available partner institutions abroad, receiving financial support and benefiting from the facilities of the host institution without having to pay additional tuition fees.

Where you can go

The University of Florence, through the School of Architecture, has established over 100 Erasmus+ agreements with an equal number of European universities.

This section lists the destinations—organized by country—where Architecture students can carry out an Erasmus+ mobility period. For each host institution, the website, Erasmus+ code, and ISCED code (indicating the subject area of the academic offering, e.g., ARCHITECTURE) are provided.

The list of partner universities available for Erasmus+ mobility in a given academic year will be published exclusively at the time of the release of the University’s annual call for applications.

Vademecum for choosing your destination

Students are strongly encouraged to check the website of the host institution before applying to the call for applications, in order to verify that:

  • The courses offered are compatible with or similar in content to those for which the student intends to receive academic recognition at the end of the mobility period.
  • The languages of instruction are clearly stated. In some cases, universities may accept students based on their English language proficiency, but do not actually offer courses taught in English.

For further details, please refer to the Guide to Choosing Erasmus Destinations

How to partecipate

The Call for Applications for Erasmus+ Study Mobility is published annually on the University website, typically between December and January.

Applications must be submitted exclusively through the Turul online platform.

Successful Applicants

Candidates selected in the University ranking (published on the Turul platform) will receive a notification from the International Relations Office of the School of Architecture, which will proceed with the nomination to the host institution.
The host institution may require the student to complete an application procedure, either online or by submitting documents via email. Application procedures and deadlines are usually provided on the host university’s website, which students are strongly advised to consult well in advance.

Learning Agreement (LA)

A key requirement for Erasmus+ students is the completion of the Learning Agreement.
The Learning Agreement outlines the study plan, listing the courses the student intends to take abroad and their corresponding Italian equivalents. At the time of application to the Erasmus+ Study Mobility programme, students must submit a preliminary Learning Agreement for their first-choice destination.
Please note that the Learning Agreement must be agreed upon with the Erasmus+ coordinator of the student’s degree programme.

The final Learning Agreement, for the assigned destination, must be completed online. Each student must log in to their personal page on the Student Career Management System (GCS) using SPID credentials, following the detailed instructions provided in the document available in the Useful Notes section.

LOGIN TO GCS

Only in cases where it is not possible to complete or submit the Learning Agreement online, students may fill it out in PDF format using the following template: Learning-Agreement_PDF

Before departure, the student will receive the mobility contract.
